Property owners can now correct the property characteristics that are recorded by the Assessor's Office year-round instead of filing an appeal. Please note, that updating or correcting the property characteristics of your property does not mean that your assessment will be lowered. In some cases, a field inspection may be required. Property owners can also upload documents to show proof. Please read the FAQs below.

Is this a great feature?

Yes!

Please read the commonly asked questions about correcting your property characteristics.

Will correcting the property characteristics lower the assessment of my property?

Correcting the property characteristics does not automatically prompt a lower assessment. It depends on the correction. In most cases, square footage does have a larger impact on assessments.

How long does it take for the characteristics to be updated on the website?

If the property characteristics are corrected, it usually takes 3-4 weeks to reflect a change on the website.

Will a field inspection take place?

In some cases, a field inspection must take place to verify the characteristics of a property. If a field inspection is required, the homeowner will be notified by an appointment letter.
